Funding the Future

What is The Lighthouse Project?

God placed Eastridge here, not by chance, but by design. He called us together for such a time as this. The Lighthouse Project is our opportunity to partner with God by:

Expanding

This isn’t about buildings or budgets—it’s about legacy and passing on a heritage of faith to future generations.

FAQs

The Lighthouse Project is an opportunity to partner with the Living God to change lives for eternity. By paying down our mortgage debt and completing the lower level, we position ourselves for greater financial sustainability and stronger missional impact—for all generations!

Starting the Lighthouse Project now provides an earlier opportunity to gauge the level of loan pay down we may be able to achieve prior to our loan maturing with National Covenant Properties (NCP). We anticipate this will put us in a more favorable position to negotiate new terms with NCP and potentially refinance earlier if interest rates become more attractive. In addition, spreading the fundraising efforts over two tax years provides donors multiple tax planning opportunities depending on their personal tax situation.

To find out more about maximizing your gift, please contact our Lighthouse Project Team for a one-on-one consultation. You are also invited to attend one of our upcoming workshops. You can visit our online giving form, select The Lighthouse Project, and follow the prompts for more information.

This is a unified effort to reach both goals—$1 million for debt reduction and $1 million to complete the lower level. We intend to remain flexible in how and when funds are allocated. One thing is certain: 100% of the property sale will go directly toward paying down the mortgage. This is separate from the Lighthouse Project.

Collected funds will be placed in secure investment instruments to earn the best possible return. Interest earnings will support the campaign alongside direct contributions to help us meet our financial goals.

The current interim loan expires on December 31, 2026. Our long-term goal at Eastridge is to be completely debt free so that every dollar can be directed fully toward Kingdom purposes. Imagine the ministry impact when all our resources are freed for outreach, discipleship, and mission.

As a vital first step, we are committed to paying down the debt to a more manageable level and securing a permanent, amortized loan. This proposed action positions us to move steadily toward our ultimate goal of financial freedom—so that nothing hinders us from fully pursuing the mission God has given us.

Yes! For example, raising an additional $500,000 could lower our annual mortgage payment from $270,000 to $234,000. That extra $36,000 per year could be reinvested into ministry. Every dollar above our goal furthers our mission impact.

We have negotiated a re-amortization agreement with NCP. Each time the principal is reduced by an additional $50,000, our monthly payment will decrease, freeing up more resources for ministry.

All contributions will be used to:
- Finish the lower level as soon as funds allow
- Negotiate the best refinance terms possible for the remaining loan

Yes. NCP is our current lender and is fully supportive. They have pledged to work with us toward a permanent refinancing solution. Steve Brown, our Leadership Team (LT) Chair, serves as our liaison and is in regular communication with NCP.

Facilities facilitate ministry. Finishing the lower level fulfills the dream of maximizing our space for God’s work, especially in children’s and youth ministry. By partnering with God, we:
- Expand our missional footprint
- Accommodate growth in ministry
- Increase rental income
- Serve as a gathering space for our community

By faith, we installed an elevator a few years ago, anticipating this very moment. We can now achieve that vision of fully completing the lower level. We need the space as our ministry is growing. The property has incredible Kingdom value.

A lighthouse symbolizes:
- Safety, guidance, and steadfastness
- Hope and direction in life’s storms
- A welcoming, outward-facing presence

It aligns beautifully with the spirit of the Pacific Northwest and with our calling to reflect the light of Christ in a dark world.

Jesus said: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life” (John 8:12). And “You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14). Together let’s reflect the light of Jesus.

Our mission is clear: to help all people meet, know, and follow Jesus. The Lighthouse Project brings that mission into focus through partnership, generosity, vision, and faithful action.

This is the perfect time to reflect on generosity and the wise use of funds. You can make a real difference here at Eastridge while also providing meaningful tax benefits to you and your family. Please refer to the Lighthouse Giving Strategies document for creative and exciting ideas.
