Water filtration project

Pulay Water Project 2010

Pulay girls brush their teeth with contaminated water Pulay is a remote village in the mountains of Guatemala, where chronic malnutrition threatens the healthy development of growing children.  These children already suffer from poor diet, and parasites and diseases in their drinking water make it even harder for their bodies to absorb nutrients from the food they eat.

The Sawyer filtration system attaches to an ordinary bucket But what can we do?  It's simple!  A Sawyer water filtration kit can profoundly benefit a family in Pulay by purifying their drinking water (each filter removes 99.99% of microbes).  Children's developing bodies are then not spent trying to fight off disease, but rather growing and getting stronger—and healthy children are able to focus on their education.

Families in Pulay are large with many children Eastridge Church, partnering with Food for the Hungry, has set a goal of providing filtration kits to all 305 families that make up the village of Pulay.  At $42 each these kits are inexpensive, but they mean pure drinking water for an entire family for years to come.  We need your help to reach our goal!  Please consider purchasing a filtration kit on behalf of a family, and make a world of difference!
