Acts 1:8 (NIV)
Pastor Rick Millikin
18As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. John 17:18 (NIV)
I am not thinking big enough.
Five major problems in this world:
1. Spiritual Emptiness.
1What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? James 4:1 (NIV)
2. Governmental Leadership that is Self Centered.
3. Over ½ the world Lives in Extreme Poverty.
4. 30,000 Children Die from Preventable Diseases everyday.
5. Over ½ of the world suffers from Lack of Education.
GOD'S PLAN FOR THIS WAS AND IS THE CHURCH
1. Christ Preached Reconciliation.
17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 (NIV)
2. Christ Equipped Servant Leaders.
3. Christ Assisted The Poor.
8"The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor. Luke 4:18a (NIV)
4. Christ Cared for the Sick.
35Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. Matthew 9:35 (NIV)
5. Christ Educated the Next Generation.
8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 (NIV)
