Acts 6:2-4
2 So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. 3 Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them 4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”
Acts 7:42b
This agrees with what is written in the book of the prophets.
Matthew 4: 4, 7, 10
“It is written…It is also written…Away from me, Satan! For it is written…”
Nothing I gain from breaking fellowship with the Father
is worth having.
Acts 7:53-56
“…53 you who have received the law that was given through angels but have not obeyed it.”
54 When the members of the Sanhedrin heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him. 55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56 “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”
A prayer to change your world:
Lord, today I am committing to You that I will memorize your word. Let me be able to immediately say, “It is written” to all that challenges my faith in You. Then I know that I will be able to see that You are rescuing me from my circumstances, because my mind will be renewed. You will transform my character, and this world, beyond my wildest expectations.
Amen.
