Roger Shenk
I’ve been leading worship at Eastridge pretty much since the get go in 1994, and have served as full time Worship Pastor since the Summer of 1999.
Having had a solid christian upbringing, I had a profound spiritual awakening in early 1992 that led me to drop the “pro musician” gig I was pursuing, and to move toward investing my life in ministry. I've since found that leading worship is a natural fit for my music and songwriting crafts.
I'm wired for creativity (music, video, graphic arts, writing, etc.) but my heart beats strongest about God, and helping people grow in their relationship to him. To that end, I'm finishing a Master of Arts degree in Spiritual Formation, with a concentration in Spiritual Direction. Whether as a pastor, musician, or spiritual director, my motivation is to help people become present to God, and to further integrate their faith with the complexities of life.

Other personal info that helps make me who I am: Wendy and I married in 1986, and have two teenaged boys, a little girl and a (now adult) foster/“adopted” daughter…
I’m an identical twin and so is my brother… I’m Mennonite as far back as anyone can see… I was born in Virginia and grown in Florida…
I cut my teeth on bluegrass and sharpened them on the new wave, pop-punk and progressive rock of the 80’s…
And I like ice cream…
