Hello Kids and Parents!

For the last three weeks (yes... I've been behind on my fabulous blogging... shame on me) your grade schoolers have been on a fantastic journey! They've been helping Kit Windswept and her assistant Andi find treasure as your kids work their way through the life and purpose of Christ! We've only hit the first three lessons of this adventure, and will break from it until the new school year begins! But! To keep our memories refreshed, and to keep the learning going, I've attached information and activities on each of these three lessons! Lesson one: Sin separates us from God. Lesson two: God gave His best, so I should give mine! Lesson three: Church is where I learn about God! Click on the picture and it will link you to information and activities!

Heroes FORGIVE!!!!!!!

Lesson Goal:

Children will learn that they need to forgive people regardless of if they've asked for it.

Main Point:

Heroes Forgive!

Bible Verse:

Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:13 (NLT)

This week your children watched how Pow and Kabaam handled forgiveness. The trainees had been given an assignment: Construct a super hero gadget. Kabaam had been hard at work gathering components to build a personal transporter. Pow had waited to the last minute and had nothing. Pow tried to steal parts from Kabaam. An argument broke out resulting in Pow flying into a rage and destroying Kabaam's project. Kabaam refused to forgive Pow citing several previous wrongs committed by Pow.

The hero instructor, The Forgiven, showed up and encouraged Kabaam to forgive. She reminded Kabaam that we've all messed up and God chooses to forgive us so we should forgive others. She told the story of Jacob and Esau found in Genesis chapter 27 and how broken family was brought back together because of forgiveness.

Check out the Super Hero Comic Strip to see a printable version of the story of Jacob and Esau!

Also! Use your decoding skills with the Super Hero Secret Code worksheet!

Join us again next week!

The Forgiven.... OUT!

Hey Kids and Parents!

This week the topic is doing what's right! That’s what heroes do!

Standing up for what is right is called courage. Having courage isn’t always easy. But when it gets hard we should remember God wants us to be strong and to have courage. Just check out this Bible verse.

I Corinthians 16:13 "Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong." NLT

I want to encourage you kids to read and MEMORIZE this bible verse! If any of ya'll come back on Sunday with this memorized, tell it to your teacher, and then you'll get a special treat!! God wants us to memorize his Word because that's where he tells us how we can love him!

Our story is the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. They did what was right even if that meant being put in a fiery furnace! But God protected them! To see the story in a cool hero comic strip click here!

More activities! Do the super hero secret code at home! Click here and find out where to find other stories about courage in the bible.

Thanks for joining us this week! Come back next week for more about how to be a hero for God!!!
