Who we are
Eastridge Church is a group of regular people at varying stages of faith, who gather around Jesus Christ as our common way to God and a complete life.
Whether you're spiritually curious or spiritually convinced, we work hard to make you feel at home as, together, we engage that process of living life to its fullest -- and not by just filling it up with more stuff to do.
The key is that, no matter who you are or what you've done, God invites you to a new life with him! He invites you to become a new person from the inside out. And it's our joy to make sure you get to consider that invitation in a hope-charged atmosphere that isn't condescending or overbearing.
The faith that Jesus taught is relational -- with God and with each other. So we focus our attention on developing three areas: loving God, loving each other and serving our world.
What we believe
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, and is the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine and conduct. We follow biblical principles where they are specific and clear, and leave other issues open to considerate discussion.
While maintaining that the Bible is sovereign over all creedal interpretations, we do affirm the historic creeds of the christian church, such as the Nicene Creed and the Apostles' Creed. From these, the Evangelical Covenant (to which we belong) often references six main affirmations:
the centrality of the word of God
|2.||the necessity of the new birth|
the church as a fellowship of believers
|4.||a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit|
a commitment to the whole mission of the church
|6.||the reality of freedom in Christ|
